Oliver Wilkinson (Oliver Richard Charles)

The younger twin, Oliver was a student at Liverpool Blue Coat School, St Kevin's College, Toorak and Melbourne High School. He excelled in the swimming pool, where he competed at city and county level in England and at State level in Australia. He specialised particularly in butterfly and he and his twin brother, Matthew, were both rated in "the top ten in Australia", as 12 year olds, in 400 metres individual medley. Outside sport Oliver developed a major interest in theatre and was heavily involved in numerous productions at school – mainly as a member of the infamous 'stage crew'. He was awarded colours for swimming and for stage crew.

He planned to train as a Veterinary Surgeon and, with this in mind, entered Melbourne University studying first year Science in 1993 and transferred into Veterinary Science the following year, qualifying in 1997.

He worked in a small animal practice in Adelaide for two years and was then in England for several years, where he worked as a locum in Liverpool, Yorkshire, Cheltenham and elsewhere.

Oliver and Vickie live in Cheltenham, where Vickie is continuing to train vigorously and compete regularly.

Oliver is working, much of the time, for the Dragon Veterinary Centre in Cheltenham but also has a share in a Veterinary practice in Albert Park, Melbourne, where he has worked for two months each year -

Port Philip Animal Hospital .

He won the 2 way Windermere (21 mile) swim in August 2009 in a near record time and swam across the English Channel on September 8th 2009 in a respectable time (11 hours and 6 mins).
